Davao City (3 May) — City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is eyeing a food production program that will transform vacant lots and underutilized lands in the city to productive food production centers.
Speaking before members of the media in Marco Polo Davao during President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s brief visit last April 30, Duterte said he is eyeing to reconfigure about P5-10 million in the city’s budget for the program. The City Mayor said that the City Agriculturist Office (CAO) will be the lead agency in the program. He said that he has instructed the CAO to make a thorough study of the plan.
