DepEd expects public school student population to increase to 20 M

BAGUIO CITY – The Department of Education (DepEd) said here yesterday that the student population will go up in all public elementary and secondary schools nationwide due to the anticipated tuition hike in many private schools in the country this school year.

“From the current number of 19 million public elementary and secondary school students, we expect the number to go up to 20 million,” Education Secretary Jesli A. Lapus said.
