MANILA, June 27 (PNA)—The “impressive†performance of Grade 6 pupils who took the March 2008 National Achievement Tests (NAT) is keyed to a “bigger budget and a more focused policy†on basic education by the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
This was the assessment of Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Jesli A. Lapus following NAT results showing that this year’s mean percentage score (MPS) at 64.81 percent compared to 59.94 in 2007, meant an eight percent improvement.
