MANILA, May 14 (PNA) — President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was assured Wednesday that the repair of the burnt Teodora Alonzo High School building in Sta. Cruz, Manila will be completed before the opening of classes next month.
The assurance came from the school’s authorities who welcomed the President when she visited the school this morning to look into the progress of the repair work.
The President had expressed concern that classes at the school might be disrupted unless the repair of the building was completed before the opening of classes this June.
Eight classrooms at the third floor of the T. Alonzo High School were damaged when fire that broke out in the neighboring Francisco Balagtas Elementary School last July 2007 also engulfed Teodoro Alonzo High.
