Davao City (14 May) — Education Secretary Jesli A. Lapus has institutionalized Brigada Eskwela (BE), a program that bridges linkages with private sectors for possible resource generation to improve public education.
This year’s Brigada Eskwela or the National Schools Maintenance Week (NSMW) is set on June 2-7, 2008 with the MANDATORY participation by ALL public elementary and secondary schools.
To ensure mandatory participation and to strengthen support to BE implementation, there will be a dissemination of manual for school heads which is a user-friendly aid on how to engage more stakeholders and a step-by-step guide for a more effective and efficient implementation.
