31 Ifugao OSYs finish computer training

Lamut, Ifugao (17 May) — Heeding to the call of the provincial government to train Out of School Youth to enhance their skills on Information Technology (IT), the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) was able to graduate 31 OSYs in a computer training.

Two public schools to receive KidSmart Learning program

General Santos City (15 May) — IBM Philippines has partnered with the General Santos City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. to donate a KidSmart early Learning Program to two local schools here.

These are the General Santos City SPED Integrated School located at Quezon Avenue, and the Francisco Oringo Sr. Elementary School, located at Oringo Subdivision, Barangay City Heights.

Microsoft uses Internet cafés to deliver e-learning tool

MANILA, Philippines — Microsoft Philippines has partnered with local Internet café operator Netopia in offering free “digital literacy” courses, including the basics of some of its core products.

Microsoft is looking at Internet cafés as a venue for delivering basic IT education in emerging countries like the Philippines. Bill Gates, Microsoft’s founding chairman, discussed this latest campaign during a government leaders’ forum in Jakarta last week.
